Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid that helps to exfoliate the skin. It can be helpful for acne treatments but it can be very drying for the skin with low efficacy. My favorite product is Neutrogena’s acne facial wash for patients with oily skin.

Absolutely! Use an oil free moisturizer such as Elta MD pm or CeraVe pm

Dry, dry, dry and irritating. Recommend to use a few times a week in conjunction with an oil free moisturizer and serum. From the Cerave line if your skin is on the dryer side but still acne prone try CeraVe SA cleanser with ceramides to balance the drying effect of the salicylic acid.
